More IRISH RED aka Death Row Red...

09/04/2011 we had a late night brew session! The Death Row Red (Irish Red) was such a success, we decided to brew another batch! Two slight modifications. A) we went back to substituting the Carared with the previously used 20L caramel/crystal malt! This gave the beer a little more of a prominent caramel finish. B) We added about 2oz. of 120L crystal malt to give it the deep red color we were looking for. During the cooling phase, I noticed the color is much better. And now with precise temperature control (see previous posts), I think flavors will enhance. This will be our best Red yet! This is version 1.2 of this beer and it promises to be a great one. OG: 1.060 which was the same as the last two batches! We are loving the consistency! If anyone brews this recipe, please comment with your feedback! We would Love to hear how yours came out! Brew this Beer and "Get on the Row"! Caution, this Beer has been known to execute your inhibitions! Cheers!
11/11/11 Tasting notes: V1.2 is the best yet! Same smooth maltiness yet a new found earthy undertone. Finishes up with a mellow yet joyful caramel ending! This beer pairs nicely with cheese burgers or a hearty stew or maybe pork chops! I think we have settled on this recipe! If you love a good red, try brewing a batch! Pair it with a meal, you'll be a rockstar!
